2016-09-28

PCG Polska was actively represented during the last week’s 14th Local Government Forum of Capital and Finance that took place in Katowice, Poland. Our representatives took part in the conference and block of debates: “Quality of life of the elderly – innovations in local authorities,” where PCG’s partners and clients presented the effects of the implementation of the SupraCare System.

The Local Government Forum of Capital and Finance is the biggest and one of the most prestigious events serving as a platform for exchange of ideas for local authorities, national agencies’ representatives and business. More than 60 panels and debates contributed to 10 thematic conferences with over 1000 participants. During the thematic conference on the quality of life of the elderly, there were discussions and presentations on best practices in senior policy, local elderly housing development strategies and the national program of the certification of personnel, services and products for the elderly – OK Senior.

Within this thematic area Agata Miśkowiec, Head of PCG Health in Poland and the United Kingdom, represented PCG as an expert panelist and a session moderator. She presented innovative financial instruments in elderly housing development and invited the participants to the newly created local authorities’ support and certification program – OK Senior Local Authority – to be carried out in partnership with the Polish Institute of the Silver Economy.

There were also discussions around IT solutions for long-term care during which PCG’s clients and the users of SupraCare system presented the effects of implementation of this innovative system supporting residential care and improving management in their nursing homes. Tomasz Pactwa, the director of the Office of Assistance and Social Projects in the City of Warsaw, and Paweł Rojewski from the Social Welfare Home Syrena, both emphasized not only the streamlining of operations, but above all, the human factor: the positive impact of the implemented solutions on relationships with clients and more effective use of staff time to improve the quality of care for their residents.

The debates and conversations at the PCG stand were inspiring and the interest in the conference on the senior policy indicates a growing awareness of governments of the significance of this thematic area.
