Developing digital readiness and the ability of people aged 60+ to actively participate in digital transformation, so that they do not fall behind, is the goal of a new international project led by PCG Polska: SeniorVlog. Inspiring and empowering seniors to become vloggers and conquer the Internet, co-financed by the European Union under the Erasmus Plus program.
The project aims to enable people aged 60+ to participate in a high-quality training program and its online version. The skills of mentors supporting people aged 60+ in the learning process will also be developed.
Mature Internet users - after completing the SeniorVlog course - will acquire the key digital skills and competences needed to start vlogging. This will make them more visible on social media as providers of active content.
SeniorVlog partners are also preparing an innovative comparative study on the presence of older people in social media as vloggers in Poland, Italy, Portugal, Cyprus and Greece.
During the project - by the end of July 2024, the SeniorVlog project consortium will develop:
- An innovative comparative reearch and report on social media presence of Senior Vloggers, which will gather background information on the state of play across partnership countries.
- A Training Program Curriculum, which will be designed to break the digital barrier of “the big world of social media” and the stereotype of Vlogging as reserved for relatively young people.
- A mentoring Guidebook and recommendations for Senior Vloggers support, providing specific guidelines for mentors, including a workshop to induce new mentors and prepare them for that role.
- An online version of a Senior Vlogging Guide, which will have a very practical approach, based on short text information, great use of figures, charts and other dynamic schemes, use of tips and testimonials of participants, and a great use of exercises, multimedia and graphic design to be more appealing.
The SeniorVlog project partnership will publish the results of its work and training invitations on the project website:

Improving the lives of older people by better preparing them to take full advantage of the Internet and becoming more visible in social media is so important that seniors will soon constitute 1/3 of our society. We would like to help people aged 60+ be visible on social media as much as they become currently more and more visible among us.
