According to research, elder abuse is a common phenomenon, but at the same time it is largely hidden. One of the main obstacles to progress in this area is the under-reporting of abuse by elderly victims.

Screening for elder abuse can help identify it early and provide support if needed. However, the use of screening tools in the European Union is still rare.

One of the objectives of the Erasmus+ SAVE Project is the pilot implementation of the screening program in health care and social assistance facilities.

To promote screening practices, aiming to facilitate early identification of abuse, the SAVE Project Partners would like to invite you to take part in the final dissemination events to be organized in the upcoming months in Poland, Portugal, Finland, Cyprus and Italy:

  • Cyprus, Limassol, January 20th, 2023
  • Polska, Łódź, February 7th, 2023, Novotel, Al. Piłsudskiego 11A
    Registration form: link
    Conference program: link
  • Portugalia, Braga
  • Italy, February 10th, 2023
  • Finland.
We invite all professionals working in the health and social care sectors to join the development opportunities offered by the project to develop new knowledge and skills in detecting elder abuse.

The participants of the above events will have the opportunity to practically experiment the methodologies developed and to hear the point of view of some of the professionals who took part in the piloting.
